I was originally a session musician and songwriter in Hollywood but, after a few years, moved to Arizona for school to study recording arts and sciences. Upon a successful graduation near the top of my class, I secured a job as an audio engineer at a startup internet-based talk radio network. I worked up to Broadcast Manager within 2 years. Upon reaching my potential ceiling, I moved back to California. When I’m not busy with various side recording and editing projects, I’m working on starting up an audio/video/media solutions company.
Michael Mitchell was born in Phoenix, Arizona but has lived in Southern California for the majority of his life. He has always had a passion for all things electronic and technical. Growing up, he loved to take apart machines and devices to see how they worked. Sometimes that meant the device was no longer usable, but it was a small price to pay for the knowlege and experience gained. Throughout his early years he was also obsessed with music of all kinds. he learned to play multiple instruments, the guitar being his favorite. Upon graduation from high school, he immediately formed multiple bands and joined a few others, as a session and touring musician. After a few years living on and off the road playing gigs and writing music, he decided that he needed to advance his knowledge and skills further. He attended The New England Institute of Art (Audio and Media Technology Program). He then attended the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences in Arizona (Master Recording Program I and II). With a whole new bag of tricks to play with, he then found work at Voice America, an internet media company with over three million hits a month. Home was calling his name though, and he moved back to California to start his own media company, and find his place amongst the sun, palm trees and beautiful people.
In his spare time, Michael loves music (writing, playing, listening), ice hockey (playing and watching), video games, tinkering, gardening, and hanging out with his wife, pet chipmunk Artie, and 2 pet rats, Priscilla and Hedwig.
